We keep your child safe

1. Who we are

Arĩ AI School is an online AI coaching platform for Africans, founded and operated by Wangari Njoroge. Our platform connects students with vetted AI coaches for live 1-on-1 sessions and structured courses.

Arĩ for Kids is the section of the platform designed for children aged 5–17. We take the privacy and safety of children very seriously and follow best practices to protect them.

2. What information we collect

From parents and guardians:

• Full name
• Email address
• Phone number (WhatsApp)
• Relationship to the child (parent, guardian, sibling)
• Payment information (processed securely by Pesapal — we do not store card details)

From or about the child:

• Full name
• Date of birth (to determine their age group)
• Email address (optional — only if the parent provides one)
• Session history and progress records
• Badges and XP earned on the platform
• Coach feedback and session notes

3. How we use the information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage parent and child accounts
• Match children to the right age group and learning track
• Book and confirm coaching sessions
• Send session reminders and updates to parents by email and WhatsApp
• Track your child's progress and award badges
• Process payments securely
• Send important platform updates to parents
• Improve our platform and coaching quality

We do not use your child's data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose not listed above.

4. Who we share information with

We share limited information only with the following trusted partners who help us run the platform:

• Supabase — our database and authentication provider
• Vercel — our hosting platform
• Pesapal — payment processing (they handle card data, not us)
• Resend — email delivery
• Google Meet — video sessions between students and coaches

All our partners are reputable, well-established technology companies. We have agreements with each of them requiring them to keep data secure and private.

We may share information with law enforcement if required by law or to protect the safety of a child.

5. Your rights as a parent

As a parent or guardian, you have full control over your child's account. You can:

• View all information we hold about your child from your parent dashboard
• Correct any incorrect information by contacting us
• Delete your child's account and all associated data at any time
• Download a copy of your child's data by contacting us
• Withdraw consent at any time — we will immediately deactivate the account

6. How long we keep data

We keep account data for as long as the account is active. If you close your account, we delete all personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to keep certain records (such as payment records for tax purposes, which we keep for 7 years).

Session notes and progress records are deleted along with the account.

7. How we protect data

We take security seriously. Here is what we do to protect your child's information:

• All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS
• All data is stored in encrypted databases
• Passwords are hashed — we cannot see them
• Children cannot log in directly — access is always through the parent account
• All coaches are vetted before being approved to teach children
• Sessions happen on Google Meet — a secure, recorded-capable platform
• We conduct regular security reviews of our platform

If we ever discover a data breach that affects your information, we will notify you within 72 hours.
